"How dark is dark?"
Mario belongs to a new wave of filmmakers, always trying to push the boundaries of popular visual styles in every project he gets involved in.
Attracted to storytelling as a means to develop heightened visual and sensory experiences with an existencial aura, his work explores the human condition broadening our perceptions of beauty and what it means to be human.
His aim within this industry is to offer a genuinely pioneering vision through mastery of storytelling with images, to lend this vision to original creative film projects, working together with other visionaries who share his passion and devotion to visual storytelling.
His journey began through exploring the world working as cinematographer in different countries. This formative experience led Mario to work as well as camera operator in international film projects together with award-wining cinematographers that became an inspirational source of knowledge.
It was during one of those takes, holding the camera and his breath, dead silence on set, when he had the transcendental conection between his camera operation and the deep expressive performance of the cast in front of him. Was probably then when the path he aspired to follow got as clear as ever.
Currently living between the Canary islands, Malaga, Sevilla in Spain; and Lisbon in Portugal, but anywhere that inspiring projects come up.
